Hey guys! I want to fill my site with free explainer videos on many subjects (common craft style).

My ideas for monetization are this:

1. Sell my services : The videos will make me visible for potential clients who also want to make some explainer video.
2. Adsense? Adsense sucks
3. ?

Commoncraft uses a licensing model. They allow people to use their videos on their own websites and pay them (I really don't understand who would do this)

Can anyone please throw me some ideas on additional monetization strategies for explainer videos?

Thanks!

Here are some thoughts that come to mind:

1. Find an affiliate product where the product creator has explainer videos (whether or YouTube or elsewhere) that you can embed onto your page(s). Have some text (and article) on that page as well, and a link at the bottom of the video leading them to where they can buy that product.

A how-to video that shows that a product is easy to use can ease visitors into buying.

2. Though this idea isn’t for an explainer video per se, you can use it for “infotainment” or slightly promotional videos.

The concept behind this idea is to “tell them what to do, but sell them on the how.”

Though such a video isn’t an explainer video, it’s still something to consider.

3. If you have a series of how-to videos on a given subject, you can consider creating a course and putting it on Udemy.

Those are a few ideas that come to mind. If I think of more, I’ll try to update this thread.
