Well few weeks/months ago I have began learnig to build websites, SEO marketing etc. The problem I have is how to make a living while I am doing this and before I start making some money from the internetz to cover my expenses.

I cannot move in with my parents as I do not have any. I can't do physical labour as I was in an accident - I recovered but physical work is out of the question. I am jobless right now. So I find it hard to find some other options.

I decided not to go to web design or other school as I can learn really well on my own and I would have to take a student loan.

My intent is to build sell/design non-scammy products/sites etc. as this will sustain me in the long run.

But I have to make some money in the meantime before I get there.

Any ideas?

Become a freelancer (web design, graphics, etc.) and put that money back into affiliate marketing to build up your bankroll. After you have the funds you can do whatever the hell you want.

I don't mean to speak for the OP but someone with a "few weeks/months" of web design is unlikely to be in a position to put themselves out there for freelance graphic design unless they are exceptionally gifted. Even then, what do you expect them to earn if they are trying to compete with the $15 logo kids here? Enough to live off of AND be able to put that money back into affiliate marketing?

That's a lot of $15 logos.

You've got an excellent point there Fatbat, +rep.

If I were him and I had decent graphic design skills I'd just take my ass off to one of the more populated random forums and start up a sales thread anyways. Who knows, some people don't care too much for quality as long as it's close to what they want. I'm only saying this because I've been exploring a few forums and the prices for such freelance work isn't a lot, but there's huge demand and I don't think they care too much about quality.

If I had OK design skills and I didn't have money I'd probably try and hustle those big forums while trying to provide the best I can do...which isn't awesome quality, but they'll probably take it and pay me. Not trying to argue or anything, just speculating...definitely giving me some ideas! Just what I would do, but I'm not the OP and he can do whatever he wants haha, just throwing ideas at him :). Hope someone hits him in the head with one so he can stop making excuses and work!

GTFO out of shooting the shit, which is the bullshit forum, and start reading the forums where business is done.

Yeah but he's right. This is the relaxation part of WF, no business talk here. Just UFOs, tits, news of the weird, politics, dullspace, and circa, not in that order.

Quote from WF Shooting The Shit: "Anything goes, seriously."

So I posted this shit here. I know that it is not that pleasant but I will not be discouraged.

If you can suggest a different section do so please.

I only post here when I have a few minutes break.:cool-smiley-008:

You haven't really told us what you are good at but there is the Buy, Sell and Trade section if you think you've got the skills to pay the bills.

If you want to do design, get a portfolio together, it's pretty much a prerequisite. If you don't have a volume of work then be prepared to offer some freebies to established members for review.

You also might want to look at some of the graphic design specific forums, they all have a jobs section (I've posted links to some of them before).

In your free time when you aren't working on paid work, you should be doing work for yourself to build up your portfolio and your own money earning AM projects.

Look to places like linda.com for tutorials and learn all you can.

I'm in the same boat I'm learning but I am earning (not enough) and a friend at college told me about this internet money making stuff but I just don't know where to start..

Just run zip submits on Facebook/MySpace/PPV until you can generate like $3K to do some real damage.

Some knowledge I have:

- I am good at math - i.e. calculus, some basic statistics - i.e. know the difference between distributions - and what to use where - I think statistics will be really useful

- some psychology

- know the stock markets and technical + fund anal isys - but the best way to make a living there is to open an online brokerage, I do not have the monkey skills to trade for a living -

- I can learn software quickly and can customize software code, find it much more difficult to write software from scratch.

-Understand and can use some of the ways to create art

-learning every day - I think I will be to able to run my own production sites and server in a few months - not sure how many though

Here is a tip:

To see the really beautiful woman on the Mona Lisa painting:
- look at a really good quality printed reproduction - the original would be the best - I do not know if this works with a monitor
- look at some other parts of Mona face i.e her hair or forehead
- hold your vision there for a few seconds or a minute
- you will see a really beautiful woman portrait - not the one you usually think is there
- Leonardo painted it using what we could call black and white mode of the vision system, which is the most primitive found in some animals - I am not sure what the proper terms are.
-It works.
- There is much more to the painting than would one think. That goes for a lot of other art.

That's a really interesting piece of information, and it will be a good conversation starter during your break time as a Wal-Mart stocker. All these little hobbies you have are great but you asked how to make a living. You need some shit job that pays the bills while you are learning. Whatever job you were or are currently doing while trying to trasition to AM you need to continue doing it or resume doing it, as that is probably the most money you can currently bring in while learning.

What I meant sometimes things are not what they seem.

There might be solutions I have not thought of and thus this.

I rather do things that take me in direction I want to go and progress faster but I guess there is always the option of the stocker if nothing else is possible.

I still think that there are better options out there. You are what you do if you do it for a while.

Right, mental masturbation.

1) Figure out what you have to sell.
2) Find your target audience.
3) Write a kick ass piece on why they should buy from you instead of others.
4) Deliver
5) Profit
