How to Hide Pages?

On my domain I have folders and web pages that I wish to hide.

For example, if someone visits my site via an offer, they may get directed to:

mydomain.com/buy/campaigns/offers/page.php


If they delete segments of my URL, they are able to access all the files and folders. For example, mydomain.com/buy or even just mydomain.com

How do you prevent this?

Add an index.html in there that they'll land on instead. I don't know if this is the *correct* way to do it but it's what I do. Can be blank or be a 404 page or whatever you want.

There are a few ways to do it:

You can do it with htaccess

or

robots.txt

Here is an example of one of mine using robots.txt:

User-agent: *
Disallow: /robots.txt
Disallow: /billing/
Disallow: /panel/
Disallow: /admin/
Disallow: /banners/
Disallow: /dev/
Disallow: /files/
Disallow: /forum/

It's correct and one way to do it.

i use this method a lot and it's not bad.
