I have these certificate/diploma templates that I downloaded and I wanted to open them up in photoshop, change the text like the person's name etc., but I'm having trouble.

Photoshop will open the .eps but it's all just one layer so there's no way for me to edit any of the text.

Any help is really appreciated I'm clueless on this one thanks.

mpbiz, eps's are similar to jpeg's or gif's, you can open them, but you can't make any modifications. What you might do is duplicate the layer into a psd, put a box over the text (white if the background is white) and then you can just put new text on top of it. Good luck!

When you import EPS files in Photoshop, it flattens and raster layers.
If you don't want to use Illustrator and you have Adobe Fireworks in your suite use it because it opens EPS files with the same layers and vector format like in Illustrator.
