I will be promoting my .com domain via mainly forum posting (by discussion and picture posting), posting articles on my 20+ active blogs, article submition. Therefore,, they will neither be spam or junk links.

So, can someone tell me from experience of first-hand knowledge of how many search engine (mainly google) back-links you need to sell a .com domain for at least $3,000?

And how long does it take to achieve the amount of links you need by working how many hours a day?

More important than how many links you have is how much money is the sies making. I am not going to pay a lot more for a site if it is not making any money. Well I suppose I will pay more for a higher pr as that can create some cash if it is high enough but still income is the most important thing.

The site is not about anything on making money but a personal site related to self-help and new age-type site. So their is nothing sold on it.

3. One of them need to point to wickiefire.

It will take approx 15 man years per link.

If you are thinking of making a site worth $3K, you should be first of all having a valuable domain. After that you should be posting in the site useful content. People should come to your site searching for useful resources and information. This way, your site will become an established authority site in no time. After that you can make it even better, by doing advertising and promotion for your site. This way, you can make it a site worth more than $3K and sell it for high ROI.

Cheers

If you are thinking about selling a domain for $3,000, your potential buyers, most of them, are not going to look for backlinks to the domain.

They will look for rankings, traffic, and perhaps its monthly revenue.

What I do in general is I buy non-trademark domains based on 2-years ROI, for trademark domains = 10-months ROI

So therefore, for example, if the domain itself is making $125 a month, then I'd gladly buy it for $3,000.

Or perhaps I will analyze its traffic demographics and if I see the domain has the potential to make $125+ a month, I'd buy it. Sometimes the domain seller doesn't know the value of the traffic/name of the domain.

But who knows, there might be people who are new to IM and have deep pockets and they might believe you when you say the domain with its "100x" backlinks is worth 3k.

okay thanks for all the info!

But, if anyone has anything else to say, please post it here for everyone's benefit!

It looks that you are going to make your SITE worth 3k and not your domain. Its two different markets

The topic does not matter, well other than some topics can pull more traffic than others. You can monetize any topic not just ones about making money. E

Unless the domain name itself it something special I just do not see that very many people would pay $3k for a site with no income just because it has a bunch of backlinks.

Wow. If that is the case then I have some sites I would love to sell you because I am not getting that on Flippa.

Don't think many people look at backlinks unless they are really buying the SITE, not the DOMAIN.

Most people shop for domains when they need one for a particular use (new company, product, marketing campaign, etc.) So backlinks are probably not relevant unless it is a generic keyword domain and they will be going after the same target market that the backlinks would bring in.

I sell mainly brandable domains in the $500 - $2000 range and I would say that the average domain gets less than 10 type in visitors a month prior to sale. Almost never get asked about traffic, let alone links.

You'd probably get 3k if you had over a million backlinks from PR5 sites and up.

But more seriously, listen to what others said, there isn't a simple backlink = value equation. Each link isn't created equal and it depends what is on the site and what the domain is.

The price of a web site not only depends on back links! There are many other things too! such as, The demand of the name, number of regular visitors, age of the domain, possible daily revenue from adds,CPA etc! You can build thousands of backlinks using software such as xrumer, spending a little money. But making a web site worth 3K has some more things to be done beyond that! - But they are not that difficult as well
For example: One of my web site was asked for 4k even but it has around 500 back links only, but it had a good name and solid regular readers - that added a big value there!

Do you ask original questions, or do you just copy and paste from forum to forum?
