I know it's probably been asked before, but...

Besides keywords, what other variables are used in ranking the videos on youtube, and how much weight is given to each variable (views, number of comments, number of times video has been made a favorite, etc)?

For example, let's say I take a fresh, new video and I want to get it featured on the homepage or at least at the top of the list for a certain keyword. What needs to be done?

Then probably some kind of views to ratings ratio.

Someone should do an experiment...

edit: fuck i missed my 800th post! ok...YAY POST 801!!!

I've done a this YouTube Experiment before:

I stuffed my title and keyword with popular terms like "Pamela Anderson" "Sexy WebCam"

Result: Got 8000+ views in short time and was able to advertise my Dog Training site WITHOUT giving the people any Pamela love.

Maybe that's why it got a 1 star rating.:anon.sml:

My observations:

Dancing 18 year old girls +2 YT Points
Mentos in the vid +1.5 Points
Diet Coke in the vid +1 Point
Sports clips you have already seen +1 Point
Background Top 40 Music in a webcam +.5 Points
Animals doing something wrong +2 Points

I might be wrong. BTW this is how I do SEO too.
