I'm sure all of us have many accounts - banking, websites (FTP for example), forum logins, etc, etc. What do you use to keep track of all of them?

Right now what I do is just keep all of them in a .txt file with Notepad - usually in the format of "website: username / password".

Anyone else do this or am I just crazy? :p

I just memorize them all, they're all somewhat similar or make use of the same formula to derive the password

I keep them in a paper-based notebook. I don't like keeping them on my computer incase I'm ever hacked.

I agree on that. I keep ftp stuff in my ftp client, and all my other info on a piece of paper by my dev box.

Mine are in a notepad file as well, but it's hidden and has a weird extension just in case.

Once my business starts going a bit better I'll probly keep a notebook of my passwords/secret details - atm I just remember them....or use the forgot password feature :P

Notepad at the moment, but that's one of those things I need to find a better way of doing.

I'm sorry to admit its notepad... I have read about these usb thumb drive password protected password keepers... but i have never serioulsly considered one.

I concure that *.txt is a bit unsecure. I did give a random name thats meaningless.

I like the note book idea too, but alas it too can be lost or stolen. There is no perfect solution. :-(

i think i have a better chance of getting hacked into then some1 breaking into my place....soo i have em written on paper...until i use them on comp:P...then im screwed either way...damn u haxors! damnnn u too helllllllllllllll:p

I have an excel spreadsheet and I copy it periodically to a thumb drive. I always carry the thumb in my pants pocket along with my keys, so it becomes my off site backup in case of fire.

I use RoboForms. It'll generate passwords and store your usernames & pwds for all of your sites. Then you just click a button on your toolbar to login.

bad choice...trust me. if you use its firefox browser toolbar and one day ur pc didn't shut down properly (by accident or whatever it may be) all ur data will be erased instantly. data like bookmarks, history, options, etc.

I have them all in one of those little reporters notebooks. I also store them on my cell phone/pda and password protect the file.
