How affiliate know that I sell product?

I am new to affiliate marketing. I got the link of the products. But I dont know exactly where to put. Should I use it on my site? How affiliate will know that I sell the product?

I highly recommend that you put the link on your own site yes.

You are the affiliate, the affiliate program you signed up for tracks any sales made through the link(s). The affiliate program have a stats page somewhere where you can see if you've made any sales.

Its different for each affiliate, some will have it linked to Clickbank or something like that.

As an affiliate you will have unique links just for you. The product owner will have a script that tells him YOU sold those products. Ask the product owner about his reporting system - it should be transparent and you should be able to login to see the traffic and any sales you are bringing to his gear..
