I run an incentive site now and I am looking to expand more on the site. I have a small chat room area that members are paid for using now. I only have about 300 active members right now but I can imagine it will grow quickly is I add a paid forum through vBulletin. Does anyone have an idea about what type of hosting I should get for this? I plan on using a separate domain and hosting account from my incentive site but I have no clue on what type of hosting to get for an active forum. Any ideas here?

Just get a decent shared host. I'm sure you won't use much bandwidth at all on the forum, unless it gets huge. Why not just use the same host that you are using for your incentive site?

You having any problems with incentive fraud?

vB is very server intensive and if you have 300 active members, I'd NOT be looking into shared but rather VPS hosing. Take a look at powervps.com -- they are the finest hosting provider I've ever used. =)

I would advise you to check eskhosting.com, they are known as reliable hosting provider with no overselling, at least I didn`t have any issues with them, thus recommend

Thanks for the advice. I think it will be quite busy pretty quickly, because the members have been bugging me to get this. I wasn't sure where to go with this so I thought I'd ask the pros here.

I actually have had little problems with fraud. I am not a very big site, but I do get a good amount of traffic with the 300 active members. I guess I'm thankful for not having to deal with chargebacks and shit yet and hopefully(being naive here) it will stay that way and incentive offers stick around. Just maybe...

i think there are a lot of topics about choosing hosting. You only need to choose the best you think. :) Anyway you can by traffic if it is over. You just need stable hosting with the good support.
