Hosting company have gone AWOL

So I have an old domain and blog on a hosting company in Romania (long story but the hosts were recommended by someone years ago).

A couple of months ago my domain and hosting came up for renewal. I paid the domain but sent a ticket in querying why the hosting had jumped to twice the amount of the previous years. Heard nothing back and forgot about it for a few weeks.

Then noticed domain was down. I have sent in support tickets, emails, contacted on facebook etc but only got one reply back about 4 weeks ago saying it would be fixed asap, which it isn't. I've since bitten the bullet and paid the hosting in the hope it would resolve it.

Nadda. Nothing working and account still says the hosting is overdue!

So what's my plan of attack? Can you report hosting companies to an authority?
 


Purchase hosting, restore from backup, point domain to it, move on
 
Believe me I would, but the domain is in the reactivation period so I cannot do anything with it in the CP. I have paid for the renewal and hosting but it doesn't seem to be updated.

I'd like to fuck the company up but ideally I could do with the domain back first as it holds some value for my money site.
 
1. Out the hosting company here by name.
2. How did you pay? Is it possible to chargeback or open a dispute to hold the funds?
3. The Romanian hosting company is mostly like a small time reseller. Try and find who they are reselling their hosting an domain reg for and go direct to that company to solve you problem. They should be able to fix it.
 
Company are softhosts.com although they used to be byohost.com

I can't find any info on who resells for them - any ideas?

Live chat, support tickets, phone number and emails are either not working or not being checked.

I paid via paypal but at this point I can't see whether getting the money back is going to help. I need the domain back. Perhaps I should contact nominet?
 
Their domain is regged through godaddy
The IP for their own site is sitting on "Hetzner Online AG" (hetzner.de)

also, try emailing zulfequar @gmail.com (from their whois) - also https://www.facebook.com/zulfe.ahmed?fref=ts < who that email belongs to fb

You're hosted by muslims tee hee (interesting you think they are romanian)

You can get the domain via nominet pretty much instantly, costs £12

Looks like nominet only help with .co.uk domains and this is a .com

I was ill-advised when choosing the domain a few years ago and it's a very obvious and spammy reading one so I think I'm going to get my money back from paypal and drop the backup on a fresh domain.

who is the tag holder of the domain?
