High PR site but 6 months old. Any good?

Hi

I have been offered to place some links on a number of high PR sites (5 and above) but on checking the domains I see that they are barely 6 months old. Would having a link on such a site give me any juice or any benefit for SERP.

Hi Axe,

It's difficult to give a general answer about the effectiveness of the site. I'd recommend looking at the site through other metrics than just PR e.g. SEO Moz Page Authority and DA.

Another variable to consider is the price and also where abouts your link is. There is a theory that having your link on the sidebar or in the header/footer of a site are less effective than having it in the middle of the content.

Finally, check the back links and the content of the site. Are the back links legitimate or just a load of spam? Is the content good quality or spun?

Remember that PR isn't the be all and end all metric and can easily be manipulated.
