Since it seems like it will be a few years before online poker comes back I decided that I needed something new to focus on - adsense farming.

Like Finner, who created a similar thread, I am a complete newbie when it comes to SEO, link building, site development, content etc. but it seems like something I’d be able to do and fits well with my current situation.



Ok, so for the last week or two I have been reading, dissecting, and pasting the relevant information from the following threads into one note.

I now have in my OneNote the following sections: Key Word Research, Competition Research, Content, Design&Build, Monetizing, Analytics, Link Building, Reciepts, Calander, Tools, Account Registrations and LukeP steps.

From what I can tell these are all the broad components and the order I should tackle them to launch a new site.


As a general guideline I will be following LukeP’s steps and using other ideas and suggestions posted in this thread to round things out.

Here are the basic steps.

1- Key words 100-1000 local exact match, cpc > 1.50, competition = very easy
2- 5 pages content 500 words/pg
3- Throw it up on a basic template in Xsite Pro
4- Monetize with Adsense Account #1
5- Set up Stat Counter
6- register domain - moniker or reseller.biz
7- online site - Hostgater reseller account
8- Throw "authority links" from DFB at it and IMT submitter tool
9- Watch the honey moon period
10a-dump site if it shows no potential
10b- If it shows potential then pretty up the Xsite Pro template so each keeper site is unique
11- Switch to adsense Account 2
12- Continue Link Building with DFB and crap content article link building
13- Build out site depending on performance

Key Words

Ok so I wanted to get 10 key words but I ended up with 4 for now.

I ended up maxing out my bandwidth with proxybonanza and had to add another gigabyte. I also had to create another dummy account for adwords because apparently I hit my daily limit on searches.

I think I'm putting to much thought into what may or may not be a good key word to go forward with. From now on I'm going to just fling a bunch of poo and see what sticks.

Here are the Key Words.

Group 1 = Health and Beauty topic EMD.com

I'm going to start with Group 1 and Group 3.
Group 1 = lower searches, higher cpc, self image demographic
Group 3 = higher searches, moderate cpc, craft/product demographic

The next task is to get some content. I've been looking all over and I think I'll go with textbrokers for now. People seem to be pretty happy with them. So far this is the step that's making me the most uneasy. I'm not sure what instructions I should give to the writers to get content appropriate for a MFA site. I'm also not sure what is to much to ask etc.

I did find an example on a blog so I'll cross my fingers and hope it works.

I also did some searching for design examples and came across this on flippa.
Deck lighting and outdoor lights: LED - Solar - Low voltage lighting
I think for the time being I'll set up my template to be similar to this. It seems to be performing well and sold for a fair chunk of change on flippa.
Bikinis On Top is another example i found from flippa and it's similar to the deck-lighting site with an extra ad block that from what I gather is a no no now. That one is from adsense flippers who seem to sell quite a few MFA sites on flippa.

If any one has suggestions with site design I would really appreciate it. After content creation that's next on the list.

Also am I missing anything on keyword research?

Write up instructions for content writers and post it up here to try and get some suggestions before ordering content.
Order content for Group 1, check it out and then Order for group 3 if it all checks out.


On a side note, I can't seem to figure out how put working links in these posts. Could just be that I'm retarded.
 
Wife now involved

Quick little update. I was explaining to my wife about where we were in the process and the need to hire out some content and she piped up with, "I thought I was going to do that." So now she is going to be the content writer.

We are both working a lot of overtime this week so we are setting our sites on next wed, 3/21 to have the content for the first site ready.

This is awesome, the amount of sites we can throw up is now only limited by the speed at which we can turn them out. We also don't have to limit ourselves to 5 pages of initial content due to budget concerns. Plus we now have ability to experiment with the level of detail and how it relates to people clicking on ads without busting the budget.

So all around a positive development.

To Do:

Research the ins and outs of writing the best content to promote ad clicks and make Google happy at the same time.
Put together a template in Xsite Pro.
