This may be the wrong place to air my troubles, but you guys are clear thinkers and I need that now.

My mother passed away 12 days ago, leaving my with a set of unsettled financial affairs and a house that's a mess. I was the first one to encounter her dead, and I'm still in a state of shock. The relatives came over today and evaluated the state of her financial affairs and gave me a talking-to about the need to make real money now.

My websites are in a state of disrepair - one awaiting an enhanced coding set and the other has a broken login and shoddy homepage that is being fixed up.

Basically, everything's a mess, including me. They tell me I have to make $1,200 a month now to stay afloat, and I'm not making it.

Humor me, please. I feel like a nervous wreck. What would be your strategy as far as making $$$, the first thing you'd do?

Sorry to Hear about your mom

I cant say that im in that situation.i am in a situation of not knowing were to even start in such a massive online community surly there are many places to be able to make a income but that takes creativity and hard work. Sometimes it is extremely hard to be creative on one side and have to worry about all the other bullshit on the other side.. Wish you the best man and things will work out for you just keep cool and calm! Ive made 6 cents off adsense in the last week... I know how aggravating things can be for sure! Just stick with the WF community they are a great bunch of folks.

I also vote for "get a job." Stability brings clear thinking. Clear thinking brings a much greater chance at success online.

Yeah i wouldn't rely on online income simply because it takes a lot of time, testing, and learning to make a living from it.

If you gotta pay the bills, get a job any job. Then worry about your online stuff.
I already do part-time stuff, and find the affiliate marketing is easier money by far. I'm basically looking for a targeted strategy. I don't blame you if you tell me it's a dumb ass question because I've seen this before here.

To recap my situation from before, I was the one that had the partner that died in March. OMG, what a year this has been, and it's not even half over. :sadcrying4:

Sorry to hear that. Can't give any real advice because from what I've seen it takes time, get rich quick schemes don't work.

Can you inherit debt in your country? If so that's really shitty!

Actually, I inherited a decent wad of cash, but they gave me dire financial scenarios to turn up the pressure. Like I need it now.

I don't expect to get rich quick. I know it takes time, and the business builds incrementally. Maybe I should simply find a backbone and tell the relatives to back off and let me build my business.

Wow - can I just say that I am SO sorry for your losses this year. How hard things much be for you. Just remember to take a moment to breathe.

Sorry I don't have an crazy good advice for you... When might inheritance come through?

I was going to ask you that, but I said nah, nobody can have that much bad luck in so little time.

Dude, I don't know what to tell you?

Personally, I would get a job until I got back on my feet. If you want to go a riskier route than take out loans. You better know what you're doing though otherwise you'll really be fucked.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
But you need a strategy right now, not my sympathy - so here goes.

As you are fully aware, there IS NO MAGIC PILL. Only hard work... and I'm sure you're motivated to perform...

Right now, set the affiliate riches on the back burner and concentrate on tangible and current assets - what is your skill set?

If I was just thrown into your shoes, I would immediately start selling my services to local business. I'm a website/graphics designer, and there's work in this field almost everywhere you look. Create anything from business cards to websites... whatever they need that you can produce on the computer - so many don't have the time or knowledge to even hire someone to do it right.

Make a flyer, go door to door if you have to. If you research the local businesses, you can easily find sites that are sorely lacking - same with ads in the paper. Even better, find businesses with NO web presence, sell them on the need and provide an online brochure.

Partner with another person in your community to enhance your own skills - if you are a whiz at code, get a designer to work with, or vice versa.

Sign up with the freelance sites - it sure doesn't take long to get an excellent rep and word of mouth referrals if you do an amazing job.

Finally, if you are REALLY scraping the bottom of the barrel, find something part-time to fill the most important needs you have financially... $1200 a month is NOTHING - it's only $40 a day! With some really hard work and focus, you could easily make that per hour.

I am just throwing stuff out off the top of my head because I don't have a clue what you do, or what your skills are. But you need to sit down and make a list of all the things you CAN do, all the things you can cut back on, and give yourself a deadline to meet your goals. I know it's difficult during a time like this, but it'll help ground you to take some control.

And if there are well-meaning people trying to scare the crap out of you, lock the door and disconnect the phone for now. Surround yourself with positive, not negative people.
