help with spam

Hello,

I have some spam that keeps coming in my site, and the first two digits in the person's IP range are always the same:

same.same.different.different

If I block this ip by typing in same.same.*.* in cpanel's ip block manager, am I potentially blocking many people from accessing the site? How many people are on an ip where the first two digits are the same?

the person who is spaming is using dyanamic ip.. use some spam filter in your site.,

technically if you block
7.7.*.*
you are blocking 65,536 ips (256*256)

if you block
7.7.7.*
you are only blocking 256 ips
