Alrighties, I'm normally not one to try and get mass votes, but Firefox is getting really annoying with these addon, plugin, etc. updates and needing to be restarted before I can use it once I start up or want to install a plugin. It's gotten really noticeable for this in-house plugin I'm making and something needs done.

Vote Here (you can add up to 3 votes at a time)

The idea is simple: make Firefox not need to be restarted to install updates.

I figure that if we can get the suggestion into the top 10 so that the other users see it to help vote, the idea would get implemented in a future FF4 release.

Or install Chrome :D

Reasons to use Chrome include:

Little to no memory leaks
Default developer tools are as good as firebug in most cases
Syncs your plugins, bookmarks, etc... between all of your computers
As of v10 (currently dev build) it's view-source has been fixed
It's faster than firefox by a long shot
Most of it's little layout quirks have been fixed
No more font issues
Doesn't have to be restarted hourly or daily like firefox
One of the windows versions will sync your open browser tabs between computers

I agree. I use Iron as well, but you can't control its cache size and it starts getting very slow if you've been dealing with flash for a long period of time.

I don't like having to remove a 3-400mb cache every couple of days.

Change your startup shortcut to something like this:

chrome.exe --disk-cache-dir="CACHE_DIR" --disk-cache-size=N

50 meg cache would be something like:

chrome.exe --disk-cache-size=50000000

Edit: There is also --media-cache-size but I don't know anything about it.

FireFox Fuckin Blows, yeah I know its popular around here to say how great it is.

The reality is: it fuckin blows. Period. End of story.

Unless you really like making your system run slow as a fuck -- its great for that.
