These are the Market Samurai results for the keyword that I'm targeting, my website is the one in position #7. When looking at these results, I was trying to find the difference between mine at #7 and one of my competitors, who is at #4. It seems that they are only beating me slightly in Indexed Content (163 - 184) and pretty decently for Backlinks to their Domain (61 - 599).

Are the backlinks to their domain what are keeping them on top? Obviously you can't be sure of anything like this, but generally speaking, should I try to improve the backlinks to my domain, or would more backlinks to the specific page be more beneficial? (at least for this specific keyword)

Definitely if you get 2 or three back links to this page and regularly build back links to the whole site. In a matter of days you'll get this page on the 1 position.

Go get yourself some really high quality links to that page. Nothing spammy, some good blog comments and maybe some articles from Marx or anything that seanlopez does. That should get you where you need to be.

dchuk - I actually made this thread like 10 minutes after I read your blog post on "Interpreting Market Samurai SEO Competition Module Data." Your blog is great. I think I've read every post because it's not the same bullshit that I've been wasting my time re-reading for way too long. Thanks for the help.

Well the next ten posts I have planned are pure bullshit to try and round out the content :)

JK, thanks for checking it out! Hit me up if you have any questions

Some ideas for you.

Add more content.
Needs more BLD.
Add quality outbound links.
Add youtube video.
Check that it's not too spammy (thin affiliate site).
Cloak sales/adverts/affiliate links.
Check server response and page load times.
Keyword research for all sub pages.

Go to warriorF and buy "set and forget drive insane amounts of cash in 5 days" ebooks. J/K.

Use the drop-down arrows by the url, and take a look at their backlinks. MS will show them to you sorted by PR. It's possible you will be able to get a link or three from some of the same high PR sites as your competition. While you're at it, do the same for the other sites on that list as well.
