I do not have a lot of experience with google analytics, so I am not sure exactly how to interpret this data. I filtered out all my ip's so it does not include my traffic.

My site has been up for 3 weeks now, here's some basic data:

Visits: 577
Pageviews: 1481
Pages/Vist: 3.54
Bounce Rate: 57.40%
Avg. Time on Site: 2:08
New Visits: 80%

Traffic Breakdown: 54% Referring Sites / 29% Direct Traffic / 17% Search Engines

What exactly is bounce rate, and it's highlited in red so I am assuming that's bad? What do you think of the data, this is my first site ever so not really sure what to do next.

your stats look pretty good, without knowing the full potential for the niche (don't post it) it's hard to get a complete picture, but overall they look fine.

bounce rate is the percentage of people who land on your site and leave without ever going to a different page. So they land on your home page, then type in a new address or click back or something.

I own one ultra-mini product comparison site that only has 1 page and 5 outbound links.

Google Analytics says its bounce rate is 86%. What gives? Technically, shouldn't it be 100%?

river,
you should tag your outgoing links, so you could track clicks on those links,
your bounce rate will change and should show more realistic number that you will be able to use and optimise your pages better
