vancouver, yo
I'm getting sick and fucking tired of replacing backpacks, so I figured I would ask my fellow drunks for some recommendations.

My most recent victim was the Slappa 17" Velocity Spyder Pro, located here: Velocity SPYDER Laptop Backpack - Silver by SLAPPA

It was a great backpack for about a year and a bit, but now the zipper on both sides of the main pocket is completely screwed. Teeth chipped off, zipper detaching from fabric, etc. Today I pulled one of the zippers to zip it up, and it caught in the hole where the teeth are missing and just pulled right off.

My requirements for a bag:

1) Laptop protection! It needs to have at least a bit of padding.

2) LARGE. I'm in Pharmaceutical Sciences and most of my time outside of class is spent in the library. This means that I'm typically carrying 1-2 books, laptop, ipad, paper notepad, and the occasional binder, plus enough food to last me the day, headphones, pens, blah blah blah backpack shit.

3) Tough. I'm not talking "Ford tough", I mean TOUGH. Like you could shoot the fucking thing with a 105mm Howitzer. The Slappa bag was mostly great for this, but the zippers were a problem from day one... oval shaped zipper + rectangular shaped books / binders = areas where the zippers are constantly being pressed outward.

I'm not set on a backpack... if you have shoulder bag recommendations, etc. I'm into it. It just has to be stylish and able to be slung over one/both shoulders.

Your help is appreciated! :love-smiley-086:

2nd Targus.

I'm also looking into an Otterbox case for my laptop for when I travel.

I've used Crumpler bags for a few years now, never had one wear out or break on me so far, and use one of them daily packed with all kinds of crap. Shoulder straps are strong and comfy. I've got a few of their messenger style laptop bags anyway, not tried the backpacks. Worth checking out though.
