I saw in one of the threads that some people use Dreamweaver for Wordpress sites. I'm having no luck with it. I've chosen php/mySQL for the server technology. Is there something in the setup that I may be missing? I seem to remember somewhere that there are Dreamweaver extensions for Wordpress but don't remember where I saw it and a google search didn't help.

What is the best tool to use for Wordpress? I like DW for the HTML sites and I'd like to use it for Wordpress... unless there's a toolset that's far superior.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Bob

I always edit locally then upload and test my changes on the remote server. While a local windows/remote 'nix setup is possible, I don't like wasting time trying to get everything configured right.

I don't know I really hate using dreamweaver, there automatic code doesn't generate all that clean for using the what you see is what you get editor and most find it hard to do any local host tests.

Have you tried out Microsoft Visual Web Developer for this, it makes things super easy, but I'm not sure about using it for Wordpress, I'm sure it will work but not 100% sure.

I realy dont know what your getting at, are you having problems uploading to your server "setting up your site," are you having problems testing locally? You can find the template files to edit? What is it that you are having problems with?

I noticed you chose php/mysql as server technology, I use FTP, edit locally upload via FTP.....

If your trying to test locally check out Xampp, I just started using it recently myself since Ive been doing allot of Wordpress template work, I love it and really Im kicking myself in the ass for not installing it sooner.
