I haven't really *used* LinkedIn yet, though I have been networking a little bit for a couple of months here and there.
There are a few people that are in my 3rd level that I really want to get in touch with for specific business reasons, but that requires getting an "introduction" through two (or is it three?) different people that I am already connected to in varying degrees. (If you use LinkedIn, this should make sense. If not, go look for yourself. )
Soooo, my question is: Have you ever requested an introduction? Anything I should know? I wasn't sure if they actually work or if they are just annoying to the people you have to go through, so they are often ignored. FWIW, the connections I want to make are extremely relevant to my work - it's not a random thing.

PS. I am not worried about the first person to go through (since I know them), but more after that - I feel like it's a stretch for that person in the next level down that I don't know to give their approval of someone they don't directly know. Okay, I think I am way over thinking this. Haha.
