Have Link Wheels become useless?

In the past I have used LW to fill in for certain KW and had descent results, now it seems as though they don't work much at all. Has anyone else noticed this?

if its not effective for you anymore, your doing them wrong.

also, thinking that doing the same thing over and over again, over a period of time, within internet marketing will get you the same results is complete fail.

imo - profile links are dead regardless of how you interconnect them. However, I still think edu/gov profile links are good. But I've tried profile links (and wheels) on virgin inner pages with VERY LOW (like 500 exact searches, usa /mo) and Google didnt even notice them... STay away from those and save ur money imo

I think GoogL3 has found a way to track down regular linkwheel footprints and penalizing it.
