has anyone here tried hostmonster.com ? if so, what was your experience with them like?

ya they are shit and have ruined the launch of my newest site b/c the uptime on the server I'm on has been about 50%.

They are owned by bluehost and really big, decent rep but just cheap shared hosting.

nope bluehost owns them, matt heaton is the owner of both of those. you can do a whois too and see both have the same address.

My friend uses hostmonster, and he always say "No complaints" for them. So, I guess they are fine specially with their rates.

same physical address, same plans that differ by $1
I didn't try any of them but as far as I know bluehost service is good

I have an account with hostmonster, but I can't say that I'm happy with them. Although you can always reach their support, the support is not really helpful. The account has too many stupid restrictions... (for example: they won't make urls case insensitive!)

I have a hosting account with another hosting company and am much happier with them.
