Google Updates Leaving Everyone in Turmoil?

Hey Guys,

Well as you can see I am relatively new here!

I have previously run websites and developed websites but I am now starting to see the benefit of CPA and affiliate marketing (I've seen the light).

Anyway, I have a few small sites I am starting out with in the pharmaceutical industry but I've noticed they've been bouncing around the rankings a huge amount over the past few weeks (gone from page 2 for a keyword to page 59, then bounced between pages 5-40).

With the new updates, are people finding it harder to rank?

What are your best forms of SEO to ensure you get onto page 1? I've heard web 2.0s are very powerful?

SEO, at least in the traditional sense, is dead.

I'd suggest you take a look into SE1 or SE2, and while I'd like to be able to say that you'll find a lot of great SE1/SE2 threads on this forum, the sad fact is that most of the people here are still practicing SEO or SE0.

From what I've seen, the best information you can find on SE1 right now is on Digitalpoint, and if you really want to get a handle on SE2 you can check out WarriorForum.

I'll check out SE1 and SE2, I hate using DP as its full of spammers wanting to increase their post count
 
Sorry Plxxus, there is a certain amount of hazing that is required before we answer a question. The Newbies section is just so we can see who needs a hazing.

Read an believe nothing from IceToEskimos, we believe he is one of Matt Cutts' virtual assistants and general lap dog and purposefully tries to lead people astray.

Did he pull the "DigitalPoint Forum" trick on you? I don't know I haven't read this whole thread but he will, and be careful. Digital point is REVERSE SEO so that's eskimo's little joke. He's an asshole so .. just ignore him.

Your best bet is to start a thread asking for information about the "Google Hammer" and some great guys like Dwight Shrute, and probably JCash and others will point you in the right direction of what you should be looking at.
