Google TOS

revlimiter

$333.33/day is my goal!
I have a couple of quick questions about Google TOS that I would like to get clarified:

My first question is:
Can Google ban an entire website from Google's Search Engine if the Adsense Account to that website does not comply to the Adsense TOS?

Or will they only revoke the Adsense Account itself for violation of Adsense TOS and keep the site online Google's SE?

And my second question:
Let's say we have a website that is not in 100% compliance with the DMCA. Someone complains to Google that their content was taken and posted without permission and they want their content removed from the infringing website. Google sends out the normal email to the infringer telling them they have 10 days to respond and need to mail in a response informing them that the content in question has been removed.

The site owner removes the content but does not respond to the Google Support canned email. Can they still A) get their Adsense Account banned? or B) get banned from Google SE entirely?

Thanks! I am hoping to get some good insight into these issues.
Warmest Regards,

As a relative newcomer, all I can say is that Google will do whatever they want to do. Not only are they big enough to do so, but all of their legal agreements permit them to ban you / close your account at any time for any reason.

On a practical level, if they shut down your adsense account, this shouldn't hurt you in the serps.

My recommendation: See if you can find some CPA offers to put in place of your adsense blocks.

Just curious - why are you linking to google in your sig?

1. You're not going to get edited off SERPs for generic TOS violations.

2. Google will yank ads if you don't sign off on DMCA counter-notification.

Remember that Google's in the business of providing relevant content for search queries. Removing websites from search results willy-nilly for retribution on ad network TOS violation is simply an unreasonable fear. Now, if you're violating TOS rather severely above and beyond the large volume of day-to-day violations Google addresses, you're probably breaking more rules than just some TOS violation and can expect an elevated response on Google's end.

From my experience, Google will punish "SEO fraud" with its SERPs and "ad revenue fraud" with account shutdown, both distinctively different since they are pretty independent acts.
