Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone can shed some light on an issue I've been facing for the last week or two. My website's favicon has suddenly disappeared from the Google search results pages, even though it was showing correctly before.

I feel like I've tried everything and I'm a bit stumped. Here's a quick rundown of what I've already checked, based on Google's official documentation:

* **Followed Guidelines:** I've ensured my favicon follows all the guidelines. It's available in 48x48px, 96x96px, etc.
* **Correct Implementation:** The <link> tag is correct and is present in the <head> section of my home page.
* **Crawlable:** The favicon URL is not blocked by robots.txt and returns a 200 (OK) status. The URL is stable and hasn't changed.
* **GSC Request:** I've tried requesting re-indexing of my homepage through Google Search Console, but that hasn't triggered a new favicon crawl.

At first, I was sure I had done something wrong. But the more I looked, the more I realized this isn't just about my site. I am seeing the same thing for many major websites. For example, the favicons for Google Keep, the Microsoft App Store, and even some of Google's own help pages are also missing from the SERPs right now.

This makes me think it might be a wider issue. So, my questions are:

1. Is this a known, ongoing issue or bug that the Search team is aware of?
2. Has there been any recent change in how Google crawls or processes favicons?
3. Is there anything else I should try from my side, or is the best thing to do just to wait patiently?

Any information or guidance you could provide would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks for your time.
