Google dropping only index.html?

I just noticed my index.html page for my link dump site has been removed from the SERPs... but all the other pages on my site show up fine in the search results when I search for them.

Just a few days ago my main page was ranking number #2 for a certain keyword and now it's not ranking at all (even when I search for it specifically by URL).

I'm a little confused as to why. I really don't know HOW the google algorithim works, and why page would be banned, so if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be highly appreciated.

Needless to say, traffic is suffering bigtime so I'd like to get this fixed ASAP.

EDIT: Just checked again and the index page IS being displayed when I search for it by url, however I'm still not ranking for any of my main keywords. So frustrating.

Is your htaccess file redirecting yoursite.com/ to index.html ? (or vice versa)

Also how old is your site?

My htaccess file redirects:

mysite.com ---> www.mysite.com

(ignore the hyperlink)

You think that could be messing with the SERPs? I also noticed a drop in PR (from 4 to 3) after I did a htaccess redirect.

The site is a little over a year old.
