the only page load tool that matters is google's tool. Anyone who tells you otherwise is simply wrong.

Yes have to agree. Page speed will give you a report on any page which i found very useful as it told me some of my images should be served at a smaller size instead of letting Xsite pro do it for me. You can use it in Firefoxor Google chrome.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. PageSpeed looks pretty good. But the score it gives is not absolute, i.e. I cannot compare it against a competitor site. The help page also states:
"The Page Speed Score does not measure the time it takes for a page to load."
It only measures how much room there is for improvement.

Pingdom looks like exactly what I need. Thanks misenlai! PageSpeed is still useful in providing tips, like scaling images.
