Hey guys, I just wanted to know, what do you think would be the better option? I've heard horror stories about Google cancelling accounts unfairly so I want to play it safe.

Should I add AdSense before I build up any traffic or after? If I try to add it in my website's infancy, I risk not getting approved. But if I add it when there's significant amount of traffic, I don't want them thinking I'm doing some shady stuff to magically make my traffic jump.

Am I just over thinking shit? Should I just say 'fuck it' and just apply?

Go ahead and apply. If you have a little traffic and it increases - thats normal for websites. Just make sure your following their rules and watch your CTR's and such. You can communicate with them via email if you have any concerns.

Why dont you use gmail, blogger, or webmaster tools. They will invite you sooner or later. And from my view that is likely to get approved.

koo koo katchoo

just make sure it isn't a crappy mfa, build something halfway decent looking that google might consider being of value to someone. then apply

In your case I wouldn't even apply yet. Adcents won't be a significant income stream if you're just starting out, and it will just prove to be a distraction while you're building your empire. I'd focus on building, earning through other monetization techniques, and THEN add adsense as a supplement to your income.

Thanks for the advice so far! I'm working on a marketing campaign that'll launch as soon as I'm ready to make the website public, so I'm expecting a decent amount of traffic for a few days at first. But I still have time to worry about AdSense since I'm still trying to get stuff at 110%. I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

What's the market like for a men's fashion, lifestyle, fitness, etc. type of blog? Kinda like the lovechild between AskMen and DETAILS, minus all the clutter and with stuff that people actually want to read. I feel that the best way to monetize that is through direct ad sales, though I still want to capitalize, even if it's a little bit, on the first few bits of traffic. See my dilemma!?

I use Gmail all the time, but I haven't been invited or whatsoever. How does that process work?
