I just discovered the forum, and I'm as excited as hell. Looks like a great place to be.

I'm transitioning right now from the strictly "white-hat" world, wanting to get into more automation and things. I plan on doing the dirty work over the next couple of weeks/months, but I thought I would start from an high-level perspective.

Any resources out there you would suggest for me to get started?

Welcome to the forum. Check out the stickies for some of the information you are searching for, you can find a lot of good basic information in them. The "high-level" information though no one here will hand over to you. That doesn't mean however that it isn't here.

My advice: Hang around and figure out who the people are that know what they are doing and then learn to use the search tool. The information is all there, you just need to work to find it and put it together.

Also check out the BST forum and start reading the services people are offering and build a strategy off what they are doing. Either buy the services or mimic them on your own as best as you can.

Overall though just start doing things and learn from your mistakes, even if something you do fails you just learned what doesn't work so you can improve on it next time. If you keep doing this enough eventually you'll get there.

Read all the stickies here. Read bluehatseo.com. Read slightlyshadyseo.com. Read contempt.me. Read any other guys' blogs here that you see as you browse around.

Never accept something as true until you test it yourself. Most people don't know a fucking thing about SEO but act like they do.

Traffic is never free, there is no magic bullet.
