Hi,

For one of our niche sites we are looking for some mailing list software. Just an easy and effective e-mail marketing website that takes their e-mail adres so we can send them upsells later on.

What is a good program ?

I used to work with BigHip, but they require a user to confirm there e-mail. Which kinda kills signup conversions.

Actually your looking for a more low volume approach. I'd go /w contact conact as mentioned above. I use it for one of my newsletters.
 
For one of our smaller list company newsletter, we use Constant Contact. We have been very happy with their service. We also have aweber, which is a great basic tool for auto responder series (the only functionality Constant contact does not offer). Aweber does require the double opt in confirm, which of course really does ding your total conversions.

Yes, email confirmations kill signup conversions but don't you want a high quality confirmed email subscriber list vs one that's not? Throw in some linkbait but only give it to them after they confirm
