Code will work with up to FIVE domains. Can also be used with other extensions but will only give you Free Private Registration.

Coupon Code: LKSRTL399

Nice try godaddy.

I can say this because I don't buy domains in bulk. I wouldn't buy domains from godaddy if they were $1. Their service is that terrible.

Their site is overcomplicated, the upsells are a nightmare, and because they have such a bad reputation they do everything they can to make it hard to transfer your domains away from them.

Ever bought a domain from them via godaddy auctions? The 60 day transfer lock is fun isn't it?

Their service can be pretty bad, but for simple domain registration I have never had a problem. I would never host a main site there, but that's another story...

As for the lockouts, that's NOT a GoDaddy issue. It is an ICANN lock issue. Google it. Plus, there's been a work around that for awhile now.

It's actually a guideline. Not a rule. Hence the fact that there is a workaround...

And not all registrars follow it to begin with.

Also, the work around you're talking about involves sending an email to godaddy, them replying with an email with a PDF attachment that asks for all sort of personal info including a scan of your ID (godaddy is not a company I want having any more information than is necessary).

Then you sit back and hope they decide to lift the lock. They state clearly multiple times in their reply email and on the document that this is only to get the process started and that they will review your case. Still totally up to them to decide to release your domain. If you're adomain flipper with clients that are going to want their transfer for example, that's a deal breaker right out of the gate.

Don't know about you but if I pay 5 figures (or even 3) for a domain at auction and I have to send an email begging to be allowed to transfer a domain I own, that just doesn't sit well with me and I'd rather not do business with them if I can at all help it.

Which is all fine and great, but this has NOTHING to do with GoDaddy Auctions. It's for new domains only.

I've seen about 5 other GoDaddy coupon threads in this section and yet this seems to be the only one where there's been hostility towards GoDaddy.

What gives?
