One of my AM's who I run decent revenue with intro'd me and an account manager at one of the bigger display networks via email. My AM hooked us up because he knew that display account manager has experience running and optimizing similar campaigns.

It took about 2 weeks, 7 emails, 10 phone calls, 4 voicemails, but I finally get this guy on the phone after going around him and contacting another account manager asking if the original guy I was intro'd to was on vacation.

I finally get this guy on the phone, and I'm proposing many types of campaigns that I run in high volume elsewhere, ranging across many different affiliate verticals and even my own custom lead stuff (non-affiliate related).

The account manager, who didn't exactly sound thrilled to take the phone call, basically summed everything up to "yeah we don't want to start a bid war".

I'm by no means a display advertising pro, but doing 7 figures a month in adspend on other platforms, I would think they would be interested in at least entertaining the idea of doing some business. Am I wrong?

I would delete that last section unless you want to be bombarded with PMs

this is how it goes my friend. you will find a lot of adnetworks have a lot of the shit direct that you would be trying to run if it pertains to affiliate offers. if they are just being unresponsive... find someone else that will take your $$$.

If you offered to run more than one type of campaign, that doesn't sound right. There has to be someone else you can talk to. Don't take "No" for an answer if you really want it.

Yea I'd get a different account manager with the same network, the guy is probably dealing with a few affiliates running similar campaigns.

Also a lot of the larger networks have shitty service, it's almost like they don't want your money.

One thing I can HIGHLY recommend is if you're serious about this stuff. Go to a show sit down with someone person to person so they take you seriously. They get hit up all the time with affiliates promising them the sun.

One of my favorite tactics is "Let me wire you $50-100k cash right now to get started and show you I'm serious. What's your wire info?" Then actually wire it. Just assume the close and speak with your money if you have it.

Confidence is key when talking with people always remember that.

Select other network. There will be plenty of networks that have the same offers and might be interested on your proposals.
