Getting a Grasp on Niche Sites

Hmm, I'm not getting any response to this thread so I will try in here.


Basically just need to know:

A) How to use FeedWordPress. I can syndicate the .XML feed URL but I can only make it show up on the right hand side navigation. I would like to have my RSS content display in the content area.

B) Any other tools I should be using. I understand that pinging at the right level is important. Automating the install process would also be sweet, as I don't know diddly about "CHMOD".

Hmm, that's pretty much it for now. The website I am working on is www.myconstructionguide.com - Any tips/advise are much appreciated.

CHMOD is something that can easily be done in an ftp program. It changes who can access the document / file, whether it's only you, a group or anyone. Just right click on a file and select CHMOD. SmartFTP does it nicely.
