OK boys,
I've always been familiar with the affiliate sales world, but I've never actually had any first hand experience. Now that I'm free for the summer, its time to make some money!

Heres what I'm thinking I need to do first, but I have some questions:
1) Find some products on Clickbank, preferrably digital products.
2) Setup a domain/landing page
3) Learn to PPC Market

Sound about right? I was wondering how effective my landing page is suppose to be, considering if I use clickbank, all I get is a hoplink to redirect my customer to. Whats the point in setting up a pitch page if they get redirected to another pitch page anyway?

Also, anyone know of some good niches to get me started? (I know, no ones gonna give up their money makers, but something proven, not too crowded and simple would help me a ton in getting off the ground).

Thanks guys

insomnia, after 46 posts I have to say I don't think this is the forum for you. How in the hell can you have 46 posts and not have figured it out by now...

Just stop posting, and go read every post from about June 2006 until now.

Haha, my 46 posts don't come from Affiliate marketing.

You want to talk SEO, I've done that. You want to talk web development, I've done that. You want to talk web acquisitions and sales, generating advertising revenue, PPC advertising, fine, I've done it.

I haven't done affiliate marketing before, so its new to me. So rather than talk down to me, a simple answer could help. Thanks for understanding.

Haha thats funny I've done alot of things too and sucked at them ... I always go back to the things I do well with. Thank god I always have affiliate marketing to fall back on. I still have tons to learn though.

I am trying to help you. Like I said, go back and read the entire forum. Seriously. Do not promote clickbank, you will most likely lose money. Definitely learn PPC. Start out small. Dont be afraid to lose money. Think outside of the box. Look at your competition and do it better, no matter what it is.

I am / was in a similar situation, decided to get into aff marketing with ppc doing dating / ringtones right off the bat. Taking my bumps and bruises but pretty much even. The experience, knowledge, and data acquired is huge and I am now looking into other areas that are less saturated. I probably did it backwords but figured I would take a stab at a proven market and see what happens.

Can somebody give me some specific reasons as to why most people here are against clickbank? I'm very new to Aff marketing but my first campaign was done to promote a clickbank product and it is still the only one that I've had any kind of success with. I'm not making a ton of money, but I'm in the green and I've made around $200 in sales. Seems to me that promoting digital products, like those on clickbank, is a good place for a newb to start...
