This article is weak, here's my counter:
Gawker Says: Steve Jobs made a few personal mistakes in his life.
I Say: Who doesn't in life? Sure, it was immature of him to not acknowledge his daughter. But Really? He who has not sinned please toss around slander. This should be talked about in the tabloids, not legitimate news. Look at all the great entrepreneurs of the past, they weren't perfect.
Gawker Says: He told people their work/product/code/project was shit.
I Say: Some people call that being an asshole. Regardless, it meant that mediocre features and half-assed code didn't make it into the product. Steve Jobs was way ahead of his time on the tech evolution's he brought to the market. It sounds to me like he knew how to develop a product, and some people just don't like being told no.
Here's the other side of the story. Steve Jobs talks about saying no and ends up getting criticized for killing a software called Open Docs. Watch both videos:

Gawker Says: Steve Jobs turned the other eye on a "human rights" issue in China, where workers building Apple products are mistreated.
I Say: Really? You know what I see? A country catching up to the rest of the world. China is a developing economy, they need these factory jobs.
What else do you think those factory workers would do for a living? These workers don't have a choice between a factory job or sitting on welfare, they have a choice between farming rice like a 18th century slave or trying to make it on their own in the developed world.
Seriously, put yourself in their shoes for a minute. They don't have computers and ipods. They probably don't even have a car. These workers are chasing what was once known as the "American Dream". Except in their case, it's the "Chinese Dream".
All in all, this article was a weak blow to the balls of Steve Jobs, courtesy of Gawker. Fight like a man and you'll be respected. Today, Gawker lost my respect.
