Gate Hosting Review

Those people suck!!!! A client of mine had his website hosted with them, and it has to be one of the most sluggish and buggy interfaces I have ever had to deal with.

Every time you click a button a loading pop up appears and its disgusting. EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Press a menu item to see all your domains... loading screen.
Want to change your DNS settings... loading screen.
Want to contact support and click the support link... loading screen.
And I could go on and on. I swear it's every time you press ANY link. This has to be the worst user interface I have ever experienced. GoDaddy's is amazing compared to this thing!!

But that's not what this gate hosting review is about. It's about their fucking shady tactics to prevent losing a customers. (or do they)

So I told my client to set an account at another host I know works and is cheap but he had the domain also hosted with Gate right, so I began the domain transfer... well guess what!

The Gate.com Hosting interface does NOT let me unlock my domain, I swear there are 2 ways to unlock in the admin panel and everytime I try this message appears:

Unspecified Error
There was an error on the server, that prevented this page element from displaying correctly. Our developers have been notified. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Fuck that shit! "I know what you did there" Gate.

So most logical thing to do would be submit a support ticket right? You would think if they don't have live support they would at least respond promptly right? NO, it's been over 24 hours and no response.. that's to expect but here's the funny thing...

you know how you can see the status of the gate hosting support ticket?


YOU HAVE TO FUCKING SEARCH FOR IT! As in they give you a small text field and you have to put some words that you wrote in the support message and then it will show you the list of support tickets, then you select yours and see the status. WTF is up with that?

So a bit irritated but still with a friendly tone I give them a call. Guess what? Their fucking phone number is occupied. OCCUPIED! YES. As in they don't even give me an automated message to tell me what is up or that they are sorry they can't answer the phone. Way to go Gate Hosting!

So there you have it, my Gate hosting review or Gate.com hosting review.

My advice: Stay the hell away from Gate.com Hosting. The will fuck you over even after you decide to leave them.

Man what irritates me is the customer support, I am ok with having to call them to unlock the domain by the interface (not really), but they dont have a working phone number. That's absurd for a company that has over "600,000 satisfied customers".

Yes, its a shared hosting account but they should learn a couple of things from HostGator or HostMonster.
