I usually (read "never") post shit like this and I stay away from political & religious debates on WF, but this piece of crap managed to provoke me.

Yepp, freedom of speech. That's why I was also free to share my disgust and bitch about a story about a boy who's going to burn in eternal suffering solely because he did not have a "personal relationship" with a fictitious zombie from 2000 years ago.

Yeah, you're free to bitch. But they are free to post it on Godtube. And I'm free to call you out on it and you are free to defend yourself and so on and so on....

I love how atheists never have "proof" that Jesus is/was a fictitious zombie character. atheists just bash believers because they do not have proof that he exists. Fact is, neither side is proving anything.

Personally, I can give a shit what other people believe. atheists are just as bad as Christians as far as pushing beliefs down peoples throats.

I agree. Have you ever noticed that all the religions that don't have a notoriously bad rep are the ones who don't have an agenda to proselytize...Buddhism, Satanism, Wicca are a few that come to mind? They have bad reps for other reasons...mostly reasons assigned by other aforementioned religions.

The point is that no one wants anything shoved down their throat no matter what it is as far as propaganda goes.

I'm an agnostic, without proof & not bashing believers. This thread was not about Christianity, but about a specific video/attitude.

And the zombie thing comes straight from the bible:
"According to The New Testament, Jesus, the central figure of Christianity, was crucified, died, buried within a tomb, and resurrected three days later."

I don't agree with the attitude of the video either and I was referring to fictitious not zombie.

What bad rep has Buddhism got? Don't think I've ever seen it portrayed in the same light as the others, although I understand how, in this age of consumerism, many people might not get the stuff about not valuing physical possessions.

That video was shit and anyone stupid enough to be convinced by it deserves... well, help. But that's just it they are targeting the dumb or desperate people. Not hard to see how some happily follow when they add "you must blow yourself up to get to heaven" into the mix.

God sends people to hell for being born and dying? Lame. Our great, loving, forgiving god huh? Godtube is doing more harm than good for it's cause.

You're right...not the same light, but I was raised Southern Baptist (I'm recovering :stonedsmilie:) and that denomination condemns all other religions and denominations. In that context, I grouped those religions together...just to clarify.
 
That video is pretty fucked up. So I have the choice between going to hell or being in heaven with tons of braindead Christians. Now that's a double-bind if there ever was one.
I once met this guy who said he was Jesus when I was a kid. He gave me candy afterwards. Does that count as a personal relationship?
