So what would be your advice to people who are just starting to post or thinking about starting to post on a forum?

What is the definition of spamming posts?

I think it depends a lot on the type of forum, although I'd say that if you're at a forum mainly to promote something then it would help your cause a lot to at least try to add some worthwhile stuff in with your self promotion. It'll make your sales pitch go down a lot smoother with the forum members.

Don't post unless you have something positive, helpful, or inspirational to share. People that post negative bullshit are assholes.
