I've been fearing this day for awhile. We are now forced to use the new version of Google Analytics. It is unintuitive and clunky. Google can't get anything right.

What are the best free and paid alternatives?

Personally, I like the new interface. Was never a fan of the old. So, I didn't use it a lot. Since they revamped it, I use it all the time. Between the custom reports, advanced segments, etc, it does everything I need and a whole lot more.

What's tripping you up? Maybe someone can help

I actually don't think it's all that but. However, I hear that Piwik is a good alternative. I think it's free too, there are supposedly some really cool plug-ins and "branding" opportunities built into it.

I don't mind the individual site dashboard, but I can't stand the account dashboard at least in the default view it. In the old version you could see all your stats in a summary at a glance for each category, and then if you clicked into one of those you could see all the stats in a summary for the individual sites within that category.

Now, you just get a big list and you have to click any one of the sites twice to get to its dashboard before you can see a damn thing.

Unless I'm doing it wrong, and if that's the case, someone please help me!

Haven't used them, and not all have a free plan, some hosted, some are open source,but..

woopra.com, getclicky.com, piwik.com, statcounter.com, haveamint.com, chartbeat.com

Yes, I hate the extra clicking as well. I know it doesn't seem like a big issue but it's annoying as fuck when you are trying to check stats for 20 different sites.

Getclicky is dope. However the new UI looks nice but doesn't seem any user friendly at all.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I like getclicky a lot. I'm not sure if it has conversion tracking and all of that, but it's worth a look.

I've got the free version of getclicky on one of my sites and it is perfect. I tried to add it to another site but I guess you can only run one site on the free version? You guys just create multiple accounts?
