In an earlier life I seriously considered becoming an architect, so house design always fascinates me.
With three cats in the house I often wonder if there is any way to optimize a house so the humans and the felines can have their needs met without one (human) sacrificing comfort (i.e. room on the bed, etc.) for the other (cat.)
Anyway, did anybody see these cool house designs from Japan? I don't own this blog where they posted the info but I'm going to link out to it because the photos of the cat house are pretty cool:

Makes me want to pick up some carpentry skills so I can build high shelve thingies for the kitties to run around. It would get them off the desk while I'm trying to work, anyway.
