I finally made the big move from dreamhost to a dedicated host, but Im having some issues. The reason it took me so long to get rid of dreamhost is because they made everything so easy to do(as long as their site was working). I have a dedicated host on aplus.net and my domain is registered through godaddy, so Im having issues with nameservers. Should I just spend the $15 a year with dnsmadeeasy.com? I heard they are super stable and good to use. That way I can avoid having to set it up on my server which uses plesk(confusing as hell to me). Any thoughts?
 


I've had a dedicated box with Aplus for a long time. They've been crap from day one, but not crap enough to warrant moving the sites that are on there to new homes. Yet.

Absolultely no reason you should have 'issues with nameservers'. Simply point your domains to your server IP using the godaddy control panel and make sure it's set up correctly in Plesk. If it doesn't work then you're doing something wrong. Nothing more is necessary.

you mean with these directions:

i just found those, but I wasnt sure if they were just meant for people who have godaddy domains AND godaddy hosting

I have no idea why everyone thinks they can get quality hosting for dirt cheap. You pay for the service, and its worth every penny. The link above is a tutorial on setting up namesevers with godaddy. You should switch to a reputable dedicated server though.

Ill give it a try, Im on a month to month basis, so if it doesnt work for me I'll switch to something else. My small budget is killing me :(

my problem with doing that is that I wont know what to fix since I've never used plesk before, and Im trying to limit the amount of downtime.
 
Plesk already manages the DNS using bind for you. Just login to your plesk panel and added the necessary zones from there.

When you add sites in Plesk it will automatically setup the necessary DNS entrys for you also.
