Hey guys, looking for a little advice here,

I've got a friend who developed a game on Facebook, its a virtual world - fairly new growing at about 1000 new players a day due to advertising. (More will be spent per day soon).

Currently its sitting at about 25000 monthly users.

Within the game itself there are over 30 spots to sell banner space, he's wondering which ad servers or networks he should approach to sell this space to.

Note: the amount of users is dependant on ad spend, at the moment its costing about 0.30 USD per install.

Any ideas? What would you do.

Thanks for any input

That sounds insanely high for a Facebook game running banner ads. His best bet is to scrap that idea entirely and use Super Rewards.
Are you STUPID,

No a .50 cpm is not a high amount to expect. The best place to go for banner ads is LifeStreetMedia, they optimize and work hard to give you the best placements and cpms.

If he developed this game tell him this and make sure he does it.

Facebook does not allow you to pass information about a user to a company. However, that does not mean you cannot use the information you have to display the most relevant and lucrative ads.

The best example I can give, is display different ads to different genders. When you set this up LifeStreet doesn't really know you have male and female getting different banners. The system they use will optimize to those users and in a round about way figure it out.

You can also do it by age groups, locations, likes, pretty much whatever you want. You are just not allowed to pass this information to them.

Just use the user information in your datebase to display them,

If female age 13-18 display this ad, if male 16-25 display this ad, you can get as creative as you want with a developer who knows how to code well,

Oh and the Super Rewards thing is a no go. In game currency is only allowed to use Facebook Credits now. If you use other sources, plan on getting banned. If you do not lucky you. I will admit FB credits suck, but that is what you are suppose to use.

LIfeStreetMedia Stats

  • Revenue $158.48 *
  • Impressions 516,366 *
  • RPM $0.307

These are with having 3 ads on a page, and some that are rarely seen and no optimization.

Also for users, it would be a good idea, to go with a place like Lifestreet for installs.
