Faking PR

Hi,
Is the only (publicly known, anyway) way of faking PR to just do a 301 to a higher ranked page? And is the only way to check by comparing the actual domain to the domain indexed in google for that domain?

I heard recently that there is a new way (not sure what it is though). Is this true, or just the usual load of bollocks made up on webmaster forums?

Depends how much traffic you get from it.

If someone were to 301 every searched clickthrough on Google to a cpc splash page that made you $1 a click for a full 24 hours, I bet you'd suddenly become multi-orgasmic and you may even die from the excitement and absolute shock. Shame we can't try... legally. Would make for some fun news headlines.
