More Split Testing. More Money. More Time

I'm back again and this time with a web based version of the facebook split tester I released over a year ago: http://www.wickedfire.com/sell-buy-trade/113217-spydrs-fb-ad-uploader-split-tester.html

This split tester is loaded with even more split testing goodness and includes support for Pages and Apps, so you can expand beyond the standard affiliate campaign setup.

You can easily split test the following:
-Ad copy
-Placement Targeting(only for apps).
-Bid types/amounts.
-Gender
-Interested in
-Relationships
-Locations(including cities/states)
-Age
-Education
-Workplaces(with the ability to split test groups of keywords)
-Precise Interests(group split testing)
-Broad targeting
-Images

This version is pumped up with 28 tokens that you can plug into your ad copy, destination URL and campaign name. These tokens are indispensable for create highly targeted ad copy and also extremely useful for those with custom tracking.

Here's just a few of the tokens:

-[subid]
-[bidtype]
-[bidamount]
-[country]
-[city]
-[state]
-[gender]
-[agemin]
-[agemax]
-[broadage]
-[interestedin]
...plus many more.

More features:
- Full App & Page support, this includes sponsored stories and page posts.
- Set your campaign and ad status to Active/Paused(not a good feeling when ads with incorrect urls get activated).

Another cool feature is the ability to create a new campaign for every ad(check out the video below to see what I mean). If you want your budget distributed evenly and want reliable data this is a MUST.

Nice work! I happen to have something similar that I made for personal use only. Almost the same features minus the pretty interface.

All uploaded ads will be stored on your server, right? What stops you from stealing the campaigns and running them yourself?

You're taking that risk with any tool like this(more so with tracking/analytics services), I could've easily done the same thing with my previous uploader but that's no way to run a business and I'm not willing to risk my name for it. But even if I did have the audacity to steal someone's campaign setup I would still have no clue whether this campaign would actually work or not(heck, images aren't even uploaded, we just use the filename). If I wanted to steal data, I'd sign up for one of those spy services.

Thanks for bringing that up though, I should've addressed it in my first post.

Three review copies(6 month access) are up for grabs for reputable members. Send me a PM and I'll get you setup.

Spydr gave me a review copy, so here's what I thought of it.

The UI looks good and feels intuitive. I didn't have any problems understanding how it works. I did see a small tutorial on Youtube though. Maybe it's a good idea to show this on the site as well? It lets you input all the fields that you can enter when creating ads through the normal interface, but with a split test option for all fields. You can then use these tokens in your ad name, title, url, ... So it's perfect for creating a bunch of ads at once and do split testing.

Once you're ready, just click submit and you can download a file. This then goes into the Power Editor (which you need access to!). And from there, the campaign can be uploaded. The campaign is also saved in the split tester, so you can go back to make changes or start with a duplicate of an old campaign.

I did have some issues with the actual uploading in the Power Editor, but those are probably related to bugs in the Power Editor itself. It has been acting a bit strange lately. After hitting Upload several times, it was done eventually.

I have two small points of critique. You need to go to the help to find information on the tokens. Most of the time, you'll have two browser windows open, side by side. The most important bits could have been visible right on the Campaign creation page itself. Either as a label or as a tooltip.
Another remark is that it's not possible to split test ad titles and ad bodies separately. It looks like it was in there at some point (looking at the Token examples on the Help page), but I guess Spydr removed that feature for some reason. Not sure why, I find it useful.

All in all a great tool for those who do Facebook Advertising, want to do split testing and don't want to spend a ton of money on expensive tools.

Thanks for the review!

Great point on the tokens. I'll be releasing an update later today which will allow you to view all the tokens on the campaign creation page.

The reason the ad copy(title & image) is split tested as whole is simply because it's more flexible. For example, say I wanted to test two different appeals(2 different titles & bodies). Split testing the title and bodies separately would result in the titles and bodies to mix up and the ads not making much sense. Testing the ad copy as whole you can do things like that plus everything if the title & body were separated(with a tad more work). I might add an option to split them up if its requested enough.

Thanks again for the review!
