Facebook sending fake clicks

So my last few campaigns have resulted in a lot of bs likes and clicks from fake international accounts (mainly arab) even when I've targeted via country.

Apparently a few people have had this problem across the web.

Is there a way to eliminate this problem?

I was thinking of using custom audiences but do you guys think they'll still send me fake clicks?

I agree with productionhead. This has been happening for a while now and you'll just have to factor it in. Believe it or not, it's gotten much better over the years.

Do you think custom audiences would solve the problem because it targets UID instead of leaving the audience to FB?

That would solve the problem. Though in most cases the custom audience list is a chicken or egg problem.

I don't consider that bad...

What I consider messed up is when you run a sponsored post. And somehow Jose from Mexico likes it and his group of 3rd world people start sharing/liking it.. And the next thing you know, 90% of your budget is being spent promoting it on people not even in the US.

You probably know this and I don't know how effective it is, but you can block age/sex/countries from being able to like your page.

There was a huge story about this back in July 2012 and all through out August. A Company called "Limited Run" claims 80% of the advertising traffic they bought from FB was bot traffic.

While I don't doubt FB does their share of shady shit, don't underestimate the cuntness of your competition.
