Facebook Price Increase

I stopped running ads on Facebook for 2 weeks now, because i have been pursuing PPV traffic. Why is it that facebook traffic is now up to $5 per click. Last time i checked default traffic was like $1.08 I also noticed that there is a #pound symbol on all the interest. Can someone please inform me on what is going on with FB? I apologize if this is a repost.

Yes I did see increase in bid cost. It was way cheap in jan and feb this year.

I think it is because demand is increasing. More and more people are starting to use Facebook ads so the price goes up. The higher the bid the more likely your ad will be shown. I ran a campaign at $2 per PPV and the exposure was minimal.
