Wasn't really sure where to put this...

Randomly was searching for a domain name for a sudden idea I had, and landed a domain with a 5 letter word which is fairly sought after (75k+ monthly a/c TermExplorer), but the total domain name is 7 letters.

Think of this: "xxpuppy.com" or "xxshirt.com" or "xxtruck.com"

Two questions:
1. Can I expect any amount of traffic just for having the keyword in the title or is the "xx" going to minimize it? All seven letters put together are not a real word in any language.
2. How can I maximize the traffic off just that keyword even if "xx" is in the domain and basically breaks the domain from being a true EMD.

Either way, it's very brandable and the "xx" is a useful acronym. I was just curious if there was any way to get some sort of "free" residual traffic from the word itself.

Thanks

Here is a ranking factors info-graphic that features our friend MicroSiteMasters. :) (Hi Cardine! hi Bofu2u!) The first section is probably the one you want to look at. Obviously things change over the course of time... As with anything take precaution.
