Effect of period in domain name

*Excuse the threadtitle, messed that up. I meant effect of a dash in domain name*

If you had two websites with similar parameters (number of backlinks, link profile, keyword density etc) but one had the domain "makemoneyfast" and the other "makemoney-fast", would the first one definitely rank higher?
 


No... that makes no difference to Google, 1st one gets only slight advantage in bing/hoo

with Goog and their emd changes it is better to stay away from keyword domains but bing/hoo still love them
 
no dash is likely better in terms of SEO. in terms of branding, dump the dashes

There's no difference in google with those 2 examples above.. There's none at all.. it now depends on the backlinks of the 2 if one would get more High PR links or not.. But in terms of SEO those 2 names with the same everything does not have any difference in the eyes of google
 
Just before the period the domain will become real bitchy, then it will bleed for around 6 days.
