ebay affiliate?

Well I'm not getting rich by being an eBay affiliate, but I am making a few dollars here and there.

I own a large website for Golden Retriever owners. I know there is a percentage of them who will buy just about anything with a Golden Retriever on it. On my sidebar I use ShoeMoneyAds to display a vertical banner with the next 3 ending auctions. The photo of the item captures their attention. I believe there is also a cookie so if they click through once and return to eBay within a certain time period, I'm credited for that sale or bid too.

If you have a site that is very focused you could do well with eBay. Treat it as another stream of passive income. I'm planning on doing a massive overhaul of my site's design so I can work in the eBay ads better for more clicks.

has anyone actually displayed rss feeds? to their sites? instead of banners and ads - like display live auctions via rss or the editor tool to display live auctios?

if so what rss feeder do you use? that implemnts the images and links within the text

Possible problem in the Ebay arbitrage game.

I would think the below scenario would happen when you place ebay adds on your site too.

You bid on the keyword widgets. A Person clicks and goes directly to ebay they get the 7 day cookie and they place a bid. Next day they search again and click on John Doe's widget1 ebay add and a few hours latter this person wins auction they bid under your affiliate code. Does the Ebay program work like most affiliate progams where the most current affiliate link gets the sale? In this case John Doe would get the sale since he was the most current affiliate to be clicked on and you would lose out?

I'm noticing a lot of keywords have ebay affiliates working on them. It's very likely a person will click on mulitple ebay affiliate links every day they search for things.

Yep, I do it on a bunch of sites. It's all my own homegrown code (ASP) that retrieves the rss, parses it and displays it using a stylesheet. In some cases I'll cache it so it's not being retrieved everytime the screen is called.

Dave
