Know a lot of you guys use it. So just wondering what's the fastest and most effective way to make a switch from a qwerty?

Just so you know, when you log off, and log back in, all your passwords will be in dvorak too. So if you remember them spatially, you're pretty much fucked.

Actually, research has shown that it is bull.

Well, not really, but it has no impact.

Tested were:
- QWERTY
- DVORAK
- ABC (alphabetically sorted keys)
- Random Layout

Group one were typing beginners.
They learned the same with all keyboards and reached the same speed after training.

Group two were typists/experienced typers
They had to overcome a hump while learning the new layout. Speed was the same after practice.

So if you really want to change ... don't expect miracles.

dvorak isn't about speed, it saves your wrists and fingers because they have to move less to type.

Your best bet is to buy a really good hardware based dvorak keyboard, that way when you jump into your BIOS for some reason, you aren't completely fucked.

If Stanley jumps in here, he has a hardware based dvorak keyboard I think, maybe he'll drop the model number in here
